Essel Group unit considering options to merge with Tree House
Zee Learn may indulge in advance talks with certain concerned authorities in order to consider merging options with Tree House Education and Accessories. Zee Learn is an education arm of Mumbai-based Essel Group where Tree House Education and Accessories is a renowned pre- school chain.
In a filing to BSE, Zee Learn said, “The Board of Directors of the company has accorded in- principle approval for exploring consolidation options with Tree House Education and Accessories. The Board has constituted and authorised a committee to finalise the proposed consolidation and take all necessary steps, including the appointment of necessary consultants.”
Zee Learn already runs a chain of schools. The brand names include Kidzee pre-schools, Mount Litera World Pre-school, Mount Litera International School and Mount Litera Zee Schools.
On Friday, December 4, 2015, the shares of Zee Learn were trading at Rs 44.80 per share on Bombay Stock Exchange, which is 5.29% higher than before. Similarly, cost per share of Tree House went up by 9.98% and reached Rs 222.60.
Essel Group is a conglomerate group of companies, which was founded back in the year 1976 by Subhash Chandra in Mumbai. Its business divisions include media, technology, entertainment, packaging, infrastructure, education, charity and precious metal.
